Itinerary - Exclusive India: discovering Rajasthan and the Taj Mahal

Round trip flights are not included in the package, so you can choose from where and when you want to fly. This is to give you maximum freedom of choice!

Check-in at the hotel in New Delhi and meet the rest of your group! The initial impact can be unsettling, between the humid heat and the hectic traffic of the city... but at least we will immediately have a taste of India as we begin to get to know each other! Let's also immediately try Indian cuisine , which is for strong stomachs: let's go easy on the spices for the moment, perhaps trying to limit ourselves to rice and curry - which will still be delicious!

The morning greets us with the sound of the alarm clock, signalling the beginning of our adventure on Indian soil. With renewed energy, we rise to embrace the day ahead. Departing from Delhi, our first destination is Udaipur, known as the white city, where we'll spend two days exploring its ancient charm. Our journey commences at the majestic City Palace, the residence of the Maharanas of Udaipur, followed by a leisurely stroll along the tranquil waters of Lake Pichola, where the splendid palaces of Udaipur are mirrored. Here, we'll marvel at the beauty of Jag Niwas, a magnificent palace crafted from white marble. Amidst the bustling streets of Udaipur Bazaar, we'll discover the serene Jagdish Mandir, and indulge in authentic Indian cuisine, immersing ourselves in the vibrant flavors of the region. And of course, amidst our adventures, we'll find time to relish the comforts of our exquisite hotel, for true relaxation is an essential part of any memorable journey.

This morning we wake up early: a flight awaits us in the direction of Jaipur, the pink city ! Also in this case we will have two days available to visit the city: the first day we take it a little more calmly, given that we will have a flight to catch! The second day is entirely dedicated to exploring the capital of Rajasthan: Jaipur . The facades of the houses were built in pink sandstone (hence the nickname), and it appears surrounded by walls onto which seven doors open. We will start with a visit to the Amber Fort : once at the top, we will walk through the wonderful complex of courtyards and halls. On our itinerary we will not fail to see the Hawa Mahal , a spectacular palace with the appearance of a beehive, the City Palace , a complex of palaces and courtyards in Rajput style and the spectacular Albert Hall .

We then take a stroll through the market in search of spices and fine fabrics: we negotiate to secure the most beautiful ones! Shall we eat tandoori chicken or rogan josh (lamb) tonight?

Today we have a fairly long journey ahead of us but... there is the possibility of making an intermediate stop at the beautiful Fatehpur Sikri, the ghost town! I can stop for lunch and then visit the site before setting off again towards Agra: we finally arrive in the magical city that is home to the Taj Mahal - perhaps this evening we will already have a first taste of this incredible wonder of the world, but the best part comes tomorrow ! We check in at the hotel and have time for a visit before a typical local dinner - this evening the excitement is at its peak: tomorrow is finally the big da!

In the morning, it is still dark outside and we are already waiting: we are in front of one of the seven wonders of the modern world , the majestic Taj Mahal , the true treasure of Agra. Visiting it at this time of the morning, with the sun rising on the horizon and the light mist falling on the white marble will be a moment we will never forget. Let's enjoy these moments and breathe the magic of this surreal place of eternal beauty . 

In the afternoon we visit the Red Fort of Agra, another must here in the city, with its intricate architecture and impressive panoramic views, rooms full of frescoes, gardens with golden pavilions and some cute monkeys passing by.

Today, after a hearty breakfast, we pack our backpack well and prepare to leave Agra with a comfortable private transfer and return to Delhi , right there where it all began!

Just enough time to leave the backpacks and get something to eat before we set off again, this time by public transport; our destination is Swaminarayan Akshardham , the largest Hindu temple complex in Delhi. Although recently built, this complex is really worth a visit! It is located far from the city centre (therefore also very far from the noise) and the access controls are very strict, a bit like at the airport, and you are not allowed to bring your cell phone or other devices with you. However, all these deprivations are worth it because the site is incredible and literally leaves you breathless.

We spend our last day in India exploring its capital, Delhi, and having one last local experience. We will immediately be overwhelmed by the chaos that reigns supreme everywhere - as many as 16 million people live here! Today we await the exploration of the city and a lesson in Bollywood , the famous Indian dance that has become famous throughout the world thanks also to the film Slumdog Millionaire. To visit the city we start by visiting the Jama Masjid mosque , the Red Fort - in whose gardens we can find a moment of peace from the frenzy of the city - and the market ; we then continue to the Sikh temple of Gurdwara Bangla Sahib , having lunch inside the temple.

The afternoon is free: we can decide whether to continue the discovery of the city by visiting the Qutb Minar , the tallest brick minaret in the world, or the Lotus Temple , a very modern temple in the shape of a lotus flower, inside which there is absolute obligation of silence. Or we can go shopping or relax in our beautiful hotel: we have maximum freedom until our last dinner with friends , the perfect moment to relive all the emotions felt on this journey that led us to discover a unique country in the world.
