Our sail adventure begins!

The true adventure at sea begins: we bid farewell to the mainland, raise the sails, start the engines, and set off toward the horizon! We find our spots at the bow or stern, soaking up the sun as we sail toward Formentera, with Playa de Ses Illetes as our destination. Here, we’ll have the chance to take our first refreshing swim in Spanish waters. So, let’s slip into our swimsuits and kick off the first diving competition of the trip!

First night at anchor!

The sailboat will provide us with a wonderful opportunity to connect and spend quality time together—strong bonds will begin to form, and we’ll notice this even on our second day! This will also be our first night at anchor, which might be a first experience for some of us! Let’s relish these moments as we admire the sunset and watch as the stars gradually appear. For those who wish, sleeping on deck under the starry sky is an option we highly recommend!

We continue our sailing adventure around the island: today, just like yesterday, we will spend most of our time immersed in the blue sea and gently lulled by its waves. Our destination is the renowned Playa de Migjorn, located on the southern coast of Formentera, stretching over five kilometers of heavenly beaches. As the longest beach on the island, it features various coves divided by alternating rocky and sandy areas, each with its own name and distinct access points.

This afternoon, we’ll have the opportunity to go ashore—and we won’t miss a moment! As the sun sets, we can enjoy a delightful aperitif, and we’ll have the option to stay on land for the evening or return to our beloved boat for a cozy chat under the stars.

Playa Cavall D'en Borràs

Today marks our last day in Formentera, so we must make it special! We’ll sail along the west coast of the island to Playa Cavall D'en Borràs. This beach is named after a horse that lived in the area in 1850, owned by Antonio Borràs (hence, The Horse of Borràs). It features fine sand, is largely protected by the dune system behind it, and stretches approximately 700 meters long.

What makes this beach unique is its narrow sections and pronounced slope in certain areas. It is undoubtedly one of the best beaches in Formentera, and surprisingly, it’s not very crowded. We might have it almost all to ourselves—at least, that’s our hope!

One of Ibizas most popular beaches

Cala Jondal has quickly become one of the most popular beaches on the island in recent years, thanks to the establishment of some of the most renowned beach clubs in the area. Stretching 220 meters long and only 15 meters wide, Cala Jondal is framed by jagged cliffs adorned with pine trees, and it boasts fabulous restaurants that are beloved by the locals.

The beach is washed by crystal-clear waters in stunning shades of turquoise, perfect for snorkeling. Just a few meters from the shore, the seabed transitions to soft sand, making Cala Jondal an ideal spot for those who enjoy a lively social atmosphere. So, get ready—it’s time to embrace a bit of the island's vibrant nightlife!

In the afternoon, we’ll return to Porto Vecchio to unpack our bags and prepare (sadly) to bid farewell to the boat that has been our home during these unforgettable days at sea. Parting will be tough; our boat has been a loyal companion, and we know it will continue to be for future sailors as well! This evening, we’ll enjoy dinner in the city, and who knows? Perhaps we’ll hit the disco to end our adventure in style!
