Brazil is the fifth largest country in the world, so it would be extremely ambitious to try and visit the whole country in just 11 days! However, this tour is going to be a celebration of Brazil’s bubbling culture and its landscapes. You’ll have the chance to visit beautiful cities such as Rio de Janeiro, as well as natural wonders like the Iguazu Falls.
Our tour starts in Rio de Janeiro, one of the most sparkling cities in the world. Then we're off south to visit one of the seven natural wonders of the world, the Iguazu falls, which we will see from both the Brazilian and the Argentine side. We’ll then head to the jewel of the green coast, Paraty, a charming small colonial town. From here we’re off to Ilha Grande, which in the past served as a pirate hideaway, then a leper colony and finally a top-security prison. Nowadays it is an idyllic green island open for our exploration, from the Blue Lagoon (Lagoa Azul) to Preta Beach (Praia Preta). From this beautiful green jungle we head back to the concrete jungle of Rio de Janeiro, where we’ll spend the last three days of our tour, visiting famous landmarks such as Christ the Redeemer, Maracanã stadium, Sugarloaf mountain and Copacabana; it will be practically impossible not to head home dancing the Samba!
This tour is specifically designed to discover Rio de Janeiro and the natural landscapes South of the city, with plenty of opportunities to relax at the beach and hike surrounded by nature. A backpack is necessary to facilitate the multiple hotel changes.
The tour won’t require high levels of physical effort, considering that some days will also be spent at the beach. Some excursions such as Iguazu Falls, Ilha Grande and the city of Rio itself will require some exploration on foot, but again, nothing too strenuous. However, please bear in mind the considerable distances between the various places we will be visiting, therefore transfers will be quite long.
